Weather

The weather is very changeable in the UK. It can change from fine and sunny to cool and cloudy and then to showers or rain and then back again within a short period of time. You need to be prepared for frequent changes in the weather.

We used to check the weather forecast from the Met Office to find out what to expect. One day the forecast said "sunny, breezy, cloudy with heavy rain". They seemed to be hedging their bets but this is how the day turned out. We got all of these components several times one after the other.

We did have some nice sunny days particularly when we were in London. Apparently, Londoners are not used to getting many such days. For example, Steph went to a pop concert in Hyde Park one day. It was fairly cloudy and when the sun came out, the crowd started clapping.

Summer in the UK is often colder than winter in Sydney, particularly in Scotland and northern England.
